Stelos founder, Bill Poston (L) and Patrick Samuels (R) at the 2012 Housley Principled Leadership Program banquet
Patrick Samuels was named the 2012 recipient of the Housley Principled Leadership Award. The $1,500 scholarship was presented to the most engaged participant of the Housley Principled Leadership Program who exemplified Kevin Housley’s principle centered leadership qualities, infectious enthusiasm and maintained a sincere engagement in the program.
The Housley Principled Leadership Program is a co-curricular educational seminar teaching student leaders the real world skills they need to succeed as leaders on campus and upon graduation. A principled leader is one who makes decisions based on core values and who is absolutely consistent in their actions regardless of the specific pressures of a situation. This is the way Kevin Housley, the program’s namesake, lived his life.
“It means a great deal to receive the Housley Principled Leadership Award. Throughout the course, I learned so much about myself and how to be a better leader. Stelos is doing great things and creating opportunities for students to reach for the stars. I truly appreciate everything this organization has done for me and my peers – thank you Stelos!” Samuels said.
